West Ham Knock Arsenal Out Of Carabao Cup

West have made it through to the next round of the Carabao Cup after knocking out Arsenal on Wednesday.

West Ham were winless against Arsenal since January 2019 but found themselves ahead after 16 minutes when Ben White headed into his own net from a corner.

Arsenal spurned chances through Eddie Nketiah and Kai Havertz in the first half and were made to pay after the break when Mohammed Kudus extended the lead after a break with a wonderful first touch and finish.

Bowen then got in on the act with a deflected 20-yard shot on the hour to put the tie well beyond the below-par Gunners, who netted a consolation through substitute Martin Odegaard deep into stoppage time.

Mikel Arteta will now hope for a huge improvement in Saturday’s Premier League clash at Newcastle. West Ham are away to Brentford.
