Super Eagles and Gent striker Gift Orban has been voted Europa Conference League Player of the Week.

Orban was announced the winner on the Europa Conference League X handle on Friday.

The 21-year-old beat Daniel Peretz (Maccabi Tel Aviv) Jason Svanthorsson (Breidalik) and Faris Moumbagna (Bodo/Glimt) to claim the award.

“ 🥇 Gift Orban's hat-trick earns him Player of the Week honours! 🥇.”

Orban emerged winner thanks to his hat-trick feat in Gent’s 3-2 win against Iceland club Breidablik in Group B of the Europa Conference League.

He gave Gent the lead in the 6th minute before a brace from Svanthorsson on 16th and 18th gave Breidablik a 2-1 lead.

He drew the Belgian side level in the 54th minute after scoring from the penalty spot.

In the 69th minute he then completed his hat-trick to make it 3-2.

Meanwhile, Orban was not invited for the Super Eagles 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.

Unfortunately, he never got to make his debut due to injury.
