We have Resolved over 170,000 Complaints using ADR – Nigerian Ombudsman

The Nigerian Ombudsman, Public Complaint Commission, received over 258,780 complaints and resolved over 170,000 cases from July 2021 to June 2023, Using the alternative dispute resolution according to the chief Ombudsman, Abimbola Ayo-Yusuf.

According to Yusuf, the data did not include instances brought by the commission to address systemic problems in ministries, departments, and agencies, as well as the private sector.

The Ombudsman chief made this declaration when senior officials of the agency paid the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation a courtesy call in Abuja.

Suleiman Haruna, the Federal Ministry of Information and National Orientation’s deputy director of press, said in a statement on Thursday night that the minister had praised the PCC for its involvement in arbitration, particularly through the ADR mechanism.
