Labour Party Attah Thaddeus Upbeat after Tribunal Ruling

In response to the report suggesting the Labour Party candidate, Thaddeus Attah, who won the House of Representative seat to represent Eti-Osa federal constituency in Lagos, was sacked. He has come out to debunk the claim.

It was reported earlier that Mr. Attah was disqualified following a tribunal judgment that invalidated the polls that elected him into office.

It was said that the tribunal, after agreeing with Atta’s opposition, Babajide Obanikoro of the APC, who came third in the polls with 16,901 votes, and second-placed Banky W, who had 18,666 votes in the elections, found that 40 polling units had invalid votes; hence, supplementary elections will be held in 32 voting units within 90 days.

However, Attah has come out to debunk being sacked from office. On his Twitter page, @_JtAtta, he wrote:

“No cause for alarm! I am here to clarify that I was not sacked. The Tribunal has simply ordered a re-run (supplementary election) in the 32 polling units where elections did not hold. We will continue working for Etiosa.

I urge constituents to keep calm as we are unshaken. We will get through this together.
