The series is a spin-off of the hit series The Boys, which is set in a world where superheroes are real but corrupt and controlled by a powerful corporation called Vought International. Gen V follows a new generation of superheroes as they navigate the pressures of college life and the cutthroat world of Vought International.
The cast of Gen V includes a mix of new and familiar faces from The Boys universe. The new cast members include Jaz Sinclair, Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, Shelley Conn, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann, and Patrick Schwarzenegger.
Sinclair will play Marie Moreau, a blood-bending freshman who is determined to become the most powerful superhero in the world. Perdomo will play The Mesmer, a charming and charismatic sophomore who can control people's minds. Broadway will play Emma Meyer, a shy and introverted freshman who can shrink herself to the size of an ant. Conn will play Indira Shetty, the dean of Godolkin University and the head of Vought International's superhero training program. Phillips will play Cate Dunlap, a popular and confident junior who can push people to do anything she commands. Thor and Luh will play Jordan Li, a genderfluid character with the ability to change between male and female forms. Germann will play Sam, a troubled supe who is desperately trying to escape his unfortunate circumstances. Schwarzenegger will play Golden Boy, a senior at Godolkin University who is in the top rank, having the brightest prospects of joining The Seven.
Guest appearances from The Boys cast members Jessie T. Usher, Claudia Doumit, Colby Minifie, and P.J. Byrne are also expected in the series.
Gen V is scheduled to premiere on Amazon Prime Video on September 29, 2023.
