Nollywood Actor Jimmy Odukoya, the son of Bimbo and Taiwo Odukoya, has been named the senior leader of the Fountain of Life Church (TFOLC).
This was said at the church service on Sunday.
Leader Taiwo Odukoya, the church’s former senior leader, died in the United States in August 2023. He was 67 years old.
The preacher, whose church is based in the Ilupeju neighborhood of Lagos, was laid to rest on September 9 in a private service with close family and friends.
A pastor named Rotimi Okpaise made the news. He said that Odukoya told the Board of Trustees (BoT) members about the plan for what would happen after he died.
Okpaise says that the BoT chose Jimmy as the senior pastor and board chairman by a unanimous vote.
“The board has decided that Jimmy will be installed on Saturday, September 30, 2023,” he said.
Odukoya died less than two years after his wife, Nomthi Odukoya, who was from South Africa and was 47 years old, died. She died in November 2021 after fighting cancer for two years.
They had been married for 11 years and had two kids during that time.
After his first wife, Bimbo, died in the Sosoliso plane crash in 2005, he married Nomthi.
His marriage to Bimbo gave him three children, one of whom, Jimmy, is the main character in the Netflix movie Woman King.
Kehinde Hassan, the pastor’s twin sister, also died of cancer in December 2021.
