In a devastating turn of events, more than 100 houses have been ravaged by floodwaters in the Anguwan Rogo, Rikkos, Bauchi Road, and Naraguta communities located within the Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The catastrophic incident unfolded as a result of relentless rainfall that persisted from Saturday into Sunday.
Thankfully, no lives were lost in this calamity; however, the sheer magnitude of the flooding has led to the displacement of over 150 households.

The victims have been forced to seek refuge with their friends, relatives, or generous neighbors.
Tanko Yakubu Alhassan, a resident of Bauchi Road, shared his harrowing experience, stating, “The flood didn’t claim lives, but because it was huge, it displaced over 150 households. The displaced persons are currently staying with neighbors, friends, and relatives.”
Salamatu Aliyu, one of the flood’s victims, expressed her disbelief at the sudden disaster, saying, “We never expected it. The heavy rain has destroyed my house and that of my neighbors, as well as several other homes in Anguwan Rogo. We are calling on the government and other spirited individuals to come to our rescue.”
The affected communities now face the arduous task of recovery and reconstruction as they reach out for assistance from government agencies and compassionate individuals to rebuild their lives and homes. This tragic incident serves as a stark reminder of the vulnerability of many communities to the devastating effects of natural disasters and underscores the importance of preparedness and swift response to such crises.
