Celtic's first three points of the year were earned on flag day, and Brendan Rodgers' return was celebrated with an entertaining match against Ross County.
The reigning champions had a shaky start to the game until Greg Taylor was hauled down in the penalty area after 17 minutes, and David Turnbull, who had been given a vote of confidence by the Irishman, converted to score the game's first goal. Less than ten minutes later, Kyogo scored after skillful wing play thanks to a great Celtic counterattack.
Turnbull, who was unmarked at the back post, took advantage of a well-weighted Matt O'Riley cross to put the Hoops up three goals at the break as all traffic was directed toward County's goal. The visitors quickly responded in the second half, with Jordan White capitalizing on poor Joe Hart awareness to head in a corner around the hour mark.
Danish midfielder O'Riley added to that, though, by joining in on the action himself and making no errors inside the penalty box to smash past Ross Laidlaw and put a bow on his effort. Before the match simmered on a low flame, the Parkhead crowd was warmed by the first glimpses of Yang, Maik Nawrocki, and Odin Thiago Holm.
Six goals were scored in the opening match of the Premiership season, but Carl Starfelt, who might be leaving Glasgow, could only turn a James Brown shot over Hart in injury time to give County another consolation. Three points and four goals will be a welcome sight for Rodgers upon his return, but the afternoon in Glasgow's East End wasn't without its hiccups.
